The RIPE Community
RIPE is a forum open to everyone interested in the operation of the Internet. Since 1989, it has brought together people and communities to share information and ideas, discuss best common practices, and carry out technical coordination work.
With RIPE 93 fast approaching, the RIPE Chair Team shares updates on policy and Working Group activity, the Code of Conduct Team document, and recent events across the Internet community.
A governance structure is strongest when the responsibilities written down on paper match the responsibilities exercised in practice. This proposal to change the RIPE NCC’s governance structure is intended to make sure that they do.
Central Asia’s Internet looks very different than it did back at CAPIF 1. We trace the rise of direct regional routes, stronger routing security and new connectivity options - along with the gaps that remain.

About the RIPE NCC
We're an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation that supports the infrastructure of the Internet through technical coordination in our service region. Our most prominent activity is to act as the Regional Internet Registry (RIR) providing global Internet resources and related services (IPv4, IPv6 and AS Number resources) to members in our service region.
Our membership consists mainly of Internet service providers (ISPs), telecommunication organisations and large corporations located in Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia.
We also provide services for the benefit of the Internet community at large.
