To recover post operation, we chose the Wonil for its beautiful location. This delight extended to the quality timber appointments and tastefully decorated suites. Unfortunately many, many little irritations let us down. The coffee machine that was broken, supposedly repaired leaving a mess and tools that I handed in. The multiple times we were rescued by the very pleasant staff from a seized elevator. The unanswered calls when again we ( at probably the furthest room- 215- from the concierg) were unable to access our room. The food was very nice, though we never did get an in room coffee. The staff were assisting and pleasant though I was left wondering if the smiling was from care free employment. I was to title this-"The pedigree dog has fleas." I rather not publish the faults, in the hope your group will attend the problems. The biggest frustration came when my 'post procedural' wife of 30 years was stuck in a lift and phoned me to rescue her. That's really pushing my limits. She was upset, and this upsets me. We remained calm, as it is technology, not staff- so get I.T and FIX IT. The front desk were adequate, and Mr smooth, -Fernando, is very calming. What I really wanted was a discussion with the Guest Manager. For the sake of someone I love very much I continued to dilute the problems and stay...calm. Not a relaxed way to be. It should all be an easy fix. So get it done, for the sake of the hotels reputation and continuing feasibility. Sincerely, Adrian O.

A very disappointing stay I booked this hotel for two nights during a recent work trip, but unfortunately the experience fell well below expectations. The problems began when I arrived and discovered that the hotel had only nine parking spaces available. As these were already occupied, I had to park some distance away and carry my luggage back to the hotel. I arrived at approximately 7:00 pm and immediately ordered room service—a chicken curry and a toasted sandwich. After waiting an hour, I called to ask where my food was. This was particularly frustrating because the restaurant had appeared almost empty when I walked past earlier. The order arrived shortly after my call, but the chicken curry was cold. I then opened what should have been my toasted sandwich, only to discover that I had been sent fish and chips instead. When I called again, I was told that the correct toasted sandwich would be delivered to my room at no charge. It never arrived. After giving up on dinner, I tried to relax and watch television, but none of the channels worked. I contacted reception yet again and was told that the hotel’s entire television system was down and would not be repaired until the following day. I hoped breakfast might make up for the poor experience the night before, but unfortunately that was disappointing as well. There was no self-service hot food, and guests instead had to order cooked items. Given my room-service experience and the fact that I was travelling for work, I did not have time to place an order and wait in the hope that it would arrive within a reasonable timeframe. The remaining breakfast selection was very average. As a regular Accor customer, I expected a much better standard of service. Limited parking, an hour-long wait for cold and incorrect food, a promised replacement that never arrived, no working television and an underwhelming breakfast made this a very disappointing stay. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not stay at this hotel again.

Hotel is located in a fantatsic spot overlooking the Swan River, hotel has a cosy and relaxed vibe. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, I did however experience a couple of nights of broken sleep due to it being quite windy and there was a banging noise everytime the wind gusts were strong, I mentioned this to the staff and they apologiesed and moved me to another room and had no further issues. They are understaffed for breakfast in the mornings with only one staff member trying to manage everything from seating customers making coffee, delivering the meals and cleaning the tables. he does a fantastic job considering the situation he is working in. I would recommend this hotel to anybody wanting to be close to the city but without the hussle and bussle of Perth central.

The room was very comfortable, beautifully appointed. Staff at desk across the 3 days so helpful and accomadating. Suggestions for improvement: When traveling a long distance to get to Perth and arriving on a Sunday, difficult not to be able to access dinner. A busy breakfast service was a bit chaotic one morning, with long wait times.

Sunday 30/08/26 We got a unexpected upgrade to our room which was a nice surprise, Probably because of all the things I was not told about. Staff where really friendly though. When I rang and booked I did not say i wanted breakfast but when charged and paid I asked why more than I was told ,she had included breakfast ,save mucking around I just said ok. I Was not informed at check in you had to put a $100 deposit and they will return it  in 5 days if all ok with your room.Hence why I'm leaving this review once I have been refunded. For a hotel you had to pay $35 for parking was not told, it's in small writing on the email you will recieve. Was not told restaurant and bar would be closed on the day we booked to stay ,but you could order food and drink to your room at a extra $5 for them to bring it to you  each time. A can of coke $10 A can of Jim beam $18 Did not order anything Breakfast menu was different..... Ended up settling on scrambled eggs and toast more like bread not toasted (sourdough) if I wanted bacon it's a extra $5!!  scrambled eggs was not cooked properly,so left that,my partner had eggs on toast (sourdough) again more like bread not toasted very disappointed in staying here as it s not cheap to stay here and then they want extra money for everything that should be included in the price!! The veiws where beautiful, the room was beautiful and the staff was friendly and welcoming but we won't be booking here again,

Room, Decor, Bed, excellent. Cleanliness Excellent. But: No Milk in fridge for coffees Water pressure for shower very low Breakfast not being kept up - 1 guy trying to do everything - no milk, juices or breads when i went to get fulfil breakfast. Long wait for cooked breakfast Then a guest was throwing up his breakfast. We had to leave at that point - very disappointing considering this is supposed To be a next level hotel.

Location at Matilda Bay is a plus. However pre arrival and check in at front desk lacked proper and timely communication. Front desk staff need training to warmly welcome their guests, more so of a Platinum member. The dining staff were friendly and accommodating.

Found this stay disappointing. Firstly there was no furniture on the balcony to enjoy the view we paid for. Staff kept turning off our air-conditioning throughout our stay which was extraordinarily rude and inhospitable for a handwritten collection hotel. There was no blanket available in the room nor any choice of pillow. The welcome note was lovely but the gift was not on even par with other Accor loyalty gifts from lower starred accomodation hotels in Australia. The service in the restaurant for the number of guests at the time lacked lustre, not fitting for a handwritten collection hotel. For example side dishes came out when guests had almost finished main course. The staff were more concerned about setting tables for the morning breakfast rather than serving dinner guests. It was also disappointing to learn that parking was additional to the room rate which when considering the above was not on par to boutique accommodation of a handwritten collection.

Check-in was not very good, parking not available and our car didn't find underneath, felt like there was no care factor from the check-in rep. Same rep failed to let me know that part of my room service order was not available, had they let me know I would have ordered something else. Not sure if I would stay here again.

We arrived to find that they have put us up in an unsatisfactory room (it was a disabled room and we didn't require it) the staff immediately relocated us, and upgraded us to a river view room. The parking had been pre-booked but had gotten lost in the system, however this was remedied immediately.

Whenever I'm in Perth for business near the University and Hospitals I love to stay here. The rooms are well appointed with high ceilings and huge windows overlooking the river.The staff were all very helpful and super accomodating. When visiting in August 2026, I found the restaurant a little hit and miss. Breakfast was excellent but some dishes on the dinner menu seemed to have lost their way from the menu descriptions.
